World Record Timepiece Auction Price Smashed By Patek Philippe For Only Watch Charity

Patek Phillipe Grandmaster

A Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime reference 6300A-010 wristwatch created specially for the 2019 Only Watch charity auction has smashed world records for any timepiece when it sold for CHF 31 million (around £23m).

The annual charity event in Geneva was this year raising money for Muscular Dystrophy research, and 99 percent of the revenue of the auction goes to the charity.

Two Dials

The Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime reference 6300A-010 was created specially for Only Watch, the first time it has been produced in steel. It has two dials in rose gold and black ebony displaying 20 complications. At an estimated selling price of CHF 2,500,000-3,000,000, it smashed expectations. The total raised by this auction currently stands at CHF 38,593,000.
