Vintage Posters Up For Grabs at The 2022 Ski Sale

Lyon & Turnbull has announced a 2022 Ski Poster Sale which will be the largest edition to date. The auction, which begins on the 18th January 2022, will feature nearly 100 lots of unique, vintage posters advertising Swiss, French, Austrian and Norwegian ski resorts.

The sale recognises the golden age of travel, from the beginning of the 20th century right through until the 1950s, a time where the first ski resorts fought with each other to be known as the most beautiful, with various quality designers and artists commissioned to make posters persuading keen holiday-goers to visit their report.

This auction is a chance to showcase some of the best and most iconic selection of vintage posters portraying the goings-on up on the slopes and the magnificent scenery up high in the mountains, envisaging an era of elegance and style by distinguished graphic artists such as Otto Baumberger, Hugo Laubi and Edward Stiefel.

There is a poster for every budget, with estimates ranging from £400 up to £15,000.

There are viewing exhibitions from Tuesday 4th to Friday 7th January At Lyon & Turnbull’s London premises at 22 Connaught St, and from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th January at 33 Broughton place, Edinburgh.
