After the success of his solo display at the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, master painter Pizzi Cannella is to exhibit in London for the very first time.
Storyboards, Interni & Vedute, which will be showing at the Partners & Mucciaccia gallery in London, will showcase 21 brand-new works by Piero Pizzi Cannella, a post-modern painter and alum of the Academy of Arts in Rome.
These masterpieces will include 14 paintings on canvas and seven mixed-media works on paper that have a dream-like quality.
The artist, who is known for highlighting the ambiguity of the creative process, said: ‘One always starts with a drawing….at times it is not there, yet all us painters, we carry it within us.
‘This exhibition is conceived like this. As a storyboard that thinks, plans, modifies and is definite (maybe).’
Storyboards, Interni & Vedute will evoke the poetry of everyday life. Depicting familiar items like maps, dresses, tables and chairs, the works on show at this exhibition have been specifically created by Pizzi Cannella for the London gallery.
As an artist who is aligned with the Avant-garde movement, the Italian master painter associates with it in his own way. Over the past years, Pizzi Cannella has perfected the balance between abstract and realist aesthetics whilst keeping post-modern in style.
A catalogue published by the Partners & Mucciaccia London gallery will accompany the exhibition. It will feature an introductory essay by the famous world-renowned art curator, Dmitry Ozerkov.
The exhibition will run from 9 March until 12 May 2018 at the Partners & Mucciaccia contemporary art gallery in London.
