Using skills he honed in his years working with the likes The Clash, AC/DC, Prince, Gary Numan on stage production, David Poxon is bringing artists from all over the world to headline at a festival of watercolour painting.
Before he took up watercolours himself, David was a Band Manager for seminal heavy metal band, Saxon. Since swapping guitars and microphones for paint brushes, David has won many awards and accolades for the precision and craftsmanship of his paintings. He’s an elected member of the prestigious RI (Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours) and the NWS (National Watercolour Society of America), the author of two books on drawing techniques, and has contributed many articles to art magazines and appeared in numerous art books worldwide. His recent book Watercolour Heart & Soul has become a best seller.
“International Watercolour Masters is a sort of Glastonbury Festival for watercolour painting, delivering the world’s greatest living contemporary watercolour masters for your pleasure, a feast for the eyes and imagination,” Poxon says.
Featuring artists from as far afield as China, Uruguay, Australia, Brazil, Russia and the USA bringing their work together under one roof. Each painting exemplifies the atmosphere, drama and versatility of this alluring medium. Every day there will be a range of practical demonstrations, broadcasts, and lectures available to participate in hosted by these remarkable artists.
The internationally renowned artists and experienced tutors include Alvaro Castagnet, Julia Barminova, Konstantine Sterkhov, Patricia Guzman, Laurie Goldstein Warren, Pasqualino Fracasso, David Poxon, Patricia Guzman, Joe Dowden, Fabio Cembranelli, Pablo Ruben, Cesc Farre, Eudes Correia, Mary Whyte, Dean Mitchell, Matthew Bird and a host of other world-famous watercolour stars.
International Watercolour Masters takes place in May at Lilleshall Hall, Shropshire from 16th to 29th May, 10am to 4pm
