International Mini Meeting in Bristol Celebrates Mini’s 60th Birthday

The International Mini Meeting (IMM) is the most anticipated and highly awaited annual Mini Event, visiting the UK only once every five years. This year, which coincides with the Mini’s 60th birthday, it opens on mid-day on Thursday 8th August, at Washingpool Farm, Easter Compton, Bristol, welcoming Mini and MINI owners from all over the World to the first ever South-West IMM.

A 60th birthday party for the Mini will be held on Sunday 11th August, where the Show will take on a slightly different format and Day Visitors will be allowed.

The venue for IMM is voted for each year by the club Presidents/Chairmen. It originated in 1978 in Germany as a small three-day camp event. IMM Bristol is a five-day festival style 1980s themed event for all ages, and welcomes both classic minis and new MINIs as well as their derivatives.

The event opens at mid-day on Thursday 8th August with a gentle build up to the official opening ceremony on Friday night. Attractions include traders, mini displays, street food and drink vendors and meeting points. From Friday there will also be live music/acts throughout the day on the outdoor and indoor stages, plus rides/children’s entertainment. On Friday evening the event is officially opened, with activities for Mini drivers and Mini Clubs during the rest of the weekend, including an open topped bus tour, rocker cover racing, club competitions including Sinclair C5 racing and a mini run. Also celebrated at the event will be 50 years of the Mini CLubman and 55 years of the Mini Moke.

Early bird tickets are sold out, tickets at the gate cost £100, with day admission on Sunday £20 for adults and £5 for children.
